CONSERVATION
We believe conservation relies on the sustainable use of natural resources. Based on field work and biodiversity monitoring we develop strategies to protect and restore the forests through organic production programs and the management of forest concessions.
OUR PROGRAMS
The Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus) is and endangered specie due to forest fires, agriculture and poaching. The center help us rescue bears and start a reintroduction process for the young ones.
Increasing our knowledge of key species and learning more about forest ecosystems dynamics, allows us to understand and developing conservation strategies.
Agroforestry and organic production lead the way for a sustainable production that can coexist with the forest.
ITA manages more than 15,000 hectares of Amazonian forests through private conservation areas and forest concessions.
